A Weekend Seminar EQUIPPING YOUR YOUNG PEOPLE TO STAY SAFE is going to be held at Faith Lutheran in Valley City. It will be starting on Friday night, May 8th at 7 PM to 9:30 PM and will continue on Saturday, May 9th from 9 AM to 5 PM. It will be conducted by Parents Arise, led by two pastors and a lay woman.

This will be for parents, grandparents, godparents, mentors, pastors, youth workers and educators. The purpose of the seminar is to give family leaders and those working with them the opportunity to gain the tools they will need to equip their offspring and those they mentor. These tools, in turn, will then enable these young people to be able to fend off evil and misleading intruders and intrusions into their lives so they can be safe and whole.

If a congregation sees that this kind of effort can advance the ministry they seek to provide, that they want their parents and grandparents to be prepared to do the job God is asking them to do, then they will want to consider this opportunity. This does not require hiring extra staff. Instead such seminars can be an inexpensive way of providing a needed supplemental ministry for a congregation. There will be future ones on new topics if desired.

The cost is $250 for a congregation which can send as many people as they want. This covers the cost all the sessions, plus two books, a film, lunch, snacks and coffee. Register by sending a $50 deposit check made out to Adults Saving Kids at 6600 Lyndale Ave. S., #708, Richfield, MN 55423. The rest may be paid at the weekend. Register by May 1 for this price. Late registration will have the weekend cost $300. If local support is found, that money will in turn lessen the congregation’s cost for the seminar. Have your church council discuss this opportunity. Call Pastor Al Erickson at 612-869-5450 if you have questions.
